About JMT Plastering LTD
Family-Run Plastering Specialists in the South West
Experienced plasterers proudly serving Taunton, Somerset and Devon
Founded in 2008, JMT Plastering is a family-run plastering company based in Wellington, Somerset, delivering expert drylining, traditional plastering, rendering, and screed services across the South West.
We’ve built our name on reliability, attention to detail, and doing things properly the first time. Our directors, John Tong and Michelle Woolcott, lead a growing team with the same values they started out with: honest advice, tidy work, and finishes we’d be happy to have in our own homes.
A Local Business With Long-Standing Roots
Our journey started with small-scale domestic work in and around Taunton and Wellington – a ceiling skim here, a garage conversion there. As demand grew and word-of-mouth spread, we officially became JMT Plastering Ltd in 2013.
Fast forward to today, and we’re now a trusted contractor for both national housebuilders and residential clients. We’ve completed projects on:
- New housing developments across Somerset, Devon, and Bristol
- Period property refurbishments in areas like Taunton, Bridgwater, and Minehead
- Barn conversions and custom builds in the countryside
- Commercial spaces and light industrial units
We’re proud of our ability to take on both developer contracts and private jobs, scaling up our workforce where needed while keeping quality consistent across the board.
Our Ethos
We’re not in this business to cut corners or talk circles. Our approach is simple:
- Be clear: No fluff, no jargon. Just honest advice.
- Be consistent: Every job, big or small, gets the same care and finish.
- Be tidy: We respect your property and clean up after ourselves.
- Be local: We know the property styles around here and tailor our work accordingly.
- Be loyal: To the companies and people that we work with.
We believe in building relationships that last, which is why a good chunk of our work comes from repeat clients and recommendations.
Supporting Our Community Beyond The Job
At JMT Plastering, we believe in giving back to the communities we work in. We’re proud to support local sports teams, fundraising events, and community initiatives throughout Somerset and Devon. Whether it’s sponsoring grassroots football, contributing to charity events, or volunteering our time and resources, we’re passionate about making a positive impact beyond the building site.
Investing in local causes is part of who we are, it’s our way of saying thank you and helping our region thrive.
Who We Work With
We regularly work alongside local builders and developers needing reliable internal finishes and also homeowners and landlords looking to upgrade or repair.
Whether we’re on a 30-home site outside Exeter or a quiet country road in Dulverton, we show up, crack on, and deliver what we said we would.
